Jhora Dasgupta was a Cities Research and Policy Officer at the International Growth Centre’s Cities that Work initiative based at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. The initiative aims to combine new evidence and analysis of urban economics with the hard-won knowledge of urban planning practitioners and policymakers. Jhora holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelors in Social Work and Law from Gujarat National Law University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Prior to her role at the IGC, she was an Intern at United Nations Human Settlement Programme. Her previous work focused on the effects of urbanisation on upwardly mobile women in India, the politics of capital determination in Andhra Pradesh, and stakeholder engagement in city planning in Oman.
